Michael Graham Events Round-Up 2023

Here at Michael Graham, we’ve been reflecting on the country shows that were a much loved part of our summer events calendar. Thank you to everyone who came along to our stand at the Blakesley Show and the Bucks County Show, we always love the opportunity to thank you for sharing your property journey with us, and to talk about your future property plans.

The Blakesley Show 2023

For the first time in recent memory, the sun didn’t shine on Blakesley. The field in Maidford near Towcester in Northamptonshire resembled a quagmire by the end of the day and many visitors relied on the charity of a friendly farmer with a tractor to tow them out of the car park at home time.

Despite the weather, the Show pulled out all the stops with a raft (no pun intended) of exhibiting classes for horses, cattle and sheep, and trade and catering stands galore. Demonstrations showcased the best of British agriculture and the top-class foods our farmers produce.

Our Michael Graham Farmer’s Market Marquee also celebrated some of the best produce from our local farmers and artisans and we enjoyed a day of welcoming visitors to our stand and chatting with a steady stream of guests.

One of our highlights was a visit by Clarkson’s Farm’s Kaleb Cooper who joined us and the Yellow Wellies volunteers who were fundraising on our stand. It was a privilege to help raise the profile of this vital charity which is the only charity in the UK dedicated to raising awareness of the mental health challenges faced by young farmers. Thank you to all those who donated, the charity were delighted with your generous contributions.

The Blaksesley Show is a highlight of our year and 2024 marks two decades of Michael Graham’s role as show sponsor. We have great plans for next year, and the date has already been released as Saturday 3rd August 2024. We’ll be posting more details nearer the time on our social channels.

Bucks County Show 2023

Supporting our local community is important to us, and at both country shows this year we worked with local farmers and artisans. A hog roast from Ian Brodie Catering in Northamptonshire, award-winning ice cream from family-run Willen Ice Cream Company in Milton Keynes and refreshments including Foxdenton gin, local ale and sparkling wine from the Chafor Wine Estate in Buckighamshire were enjoyed by all. Two lucky raffle winners won a tour of the Chafor family-run wine estate and we’re very grateful to them for partnering with us and providing such a fabulous prize.

After collaborating with Yellow Wellies at both country shows, we are thrilled to be able to continue this partnership in the role of corporate supporter. We look forward to doing whatever we can to help in their mission to preserve and protect the physical and mental wellbeing of people living and working in agriculture in the UK.

The Bucks County Show marked the end of the summer season for us and whatever your property situation, we send you our very best wishes for the months ahead. If you would like any advice on buying, selling or renting, or would like to follow up on any of the conversations you had with our team at the shows, please contact your local office via the website or call us today, we’d love to hear from you.
