Whether it’s for a new job, a new school, or a change of lifestyle, there are few decisions that we put more thought into than the place we want to live. For home buyers looking for value for money, beautiful countryside and an acceptable London commute, the Chilterns is a popular choice. Here are four reasons why families of all ages move to the Chilterns:

Escape to the country - Why moving to the Chilterns makes sense at any age
1. Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
The Chilterns is one of 34 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the UK. With countryside stretching across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire, the Chilterns is famous for its hills and woodland and network of walking routes, cycle paths and bridleways. Families appreciate the wide open spaces where young children can run around and Buckinghamshire has more stately homes than any other county so less energetic days out are in abundance too.
2. Top performing senior schools
The Chilterns have some of the best schools in the country. There are 13 grammar schools and 21 senior schools in Buckinghamshire alone, many rated outstanding by Ofsted, and the county operates a grammar school system which is a huge pull for family buyers. Schools include The Royal Latin in Buckingham, Aylesbury Grammar and the single sex Grammars in High Wycombe.
3. Community
Being part of a community comes with great benefits and village life offers that sense of community. Pippin Place in Great Kimble in Aylesbury is a private development of nine newly built and energy efficient properties that would make perfect family homes. They come with a ten year NHBC new homes warranty and have the added bonus of being in a village with a pub and a primary school, and a train station just 0.6 miles from the development.

4. Best of both worlds
High speed rural broadband connection, even in rural outposts, makes working from home easy. When office working is necessary, trains from many locations in the Chilterns reach London in well under an hour. Another bonus is that Chiltern Railways enjoys some of the highest passenger satisfaction levels of any London train operator.
