History and Heritage

Snorscomb was once a substantial village referred to in the Domesday book. In 1508 the village was enclosed by the Knightley family of Fawsley and reduced to the mill, a cottage and a farmhouse which are approached via an adopted gated road which is a no through lane serving just the three properties. The mill dates from 1821, was converted to a house approximately 50 years ago and remains unlisted. The vendors have lived in the property for 7 years and have undertaken a comprehensive refurbishment programme as well as extending at the rear with an Orangery. The refurbishment includes a handmade bespoke kitchen, an oak staircase, underfloor heating in the reception rooms, kitchen and annexe, high specification insulation, and a pressurised water system. Period features have been retained while installing modern eco features including a ground source heat pump which extracts energy from the mill stream to heat the house.
