Community

Michael Graham in the community

One of the few positives that came out of the year of coronavirus lockdowns and restrictions was a feeling of “we’re all in this together”. The value of being part of a community was highlighted and the property market became turbo-charged, with homes for sale in the countryside flying off the shelves.

Tens of thousands of home owners keen to leave city life behind in exchange for the rural idyll were motivated not just by a need for more space, but also by the desire to be part of a community.

Community spirit

At Michael Graham we have always valued the opportunity to work with and support our local communities. Over the last 50 years we have been fortunate to partner with grass roots organisations and clubs across our region, getting involved with and supporting events big and small.

150 events sponsored every year

From school fairs and equestrian events to town regattas and village fetes, not forgetting the larger annual events including the Blakesley Show, Bucks County Show and Woburn Abbey Garden Show, we celebrate and sponsor around 150 events every year. One of our long-term community partners is the Kophill Climb team who since 2009 have raised £765,000 for local charitable causes through their festival and car event. Another of our valued partners is the Northampton County Cricket Club, one of 18 first class county clubs in England and who we have been proud to work with for the last six years.

The Henry Allen Trust

Michael Graham is also a regular supporter of the Henry Allen Trust’s Christmas Stocking Appeal at this time of year, with all donations of money and gifts going to help families dealing with childhood cancer. Public donations are very gratefully received at The Henry Allen Trust.

The importance of community events

We’re delighted that the sponsorship side of our Marketing Department is in full swing again and our team are busy promoting events scheduled to take place across our region. Michael Graham roadside boards are dotted around the counties as we direct people towards upcoming events which our digital marketing team also promote by posting details on Facebook, Twitter and on the Lifestyle pages of the Michael Graham website.

Local community events are vitally important for raising funds for local causes and are a platform for local and artisan businesses who have struggled to survive as a result of the pandemic. Publicising events far and wide helps to maximise the number of visitors and we do our very best to ensure that the hard work of the organisers is rewarded in a well-attended and successful event.
