Dog-Friendly Days Out in London

London prides itself on having the world’s most dog-friendly transport network, not to mention countless dog-friendly activities and places to go, including dog-friendly bowling alleys, cinemas, cafes and restaurants.

Dog friendly days out in London

Take a look at our top picks for a day out in the capital with your four-legged friend and if you can factor in an overnight stay, we’ve discovered some of the capital’s finest dog-friendly destinations for a mini-break.

Afternoon Tea at Egerton House, Knightsbridge

Enjoy a quintessentially English afternoon tea at Egerton House. Perfect for breaking up a day of shopping and sightseeing, choose from either a traditional or champagne tea, both with finger sandwiches and pastries. All breeds and sizes of dogs are welcome here and will be given their own bowl by the attentive staff. You can stay here too, and four-legged guests will be given a welcome hamper, plus there are dog sitting, dog walking and grooming services available.

Shake Shack, Covent Garden

Cult burger chain Shake Shack is the perfect pit stop after a busy day in London. The menu even has a ‘Woof’ section with dishes including frozen vanilla custard Pooch-ini with peanut butter sauce and red velvet dog biscuits. Close by in Bloomsbury, The Montague on the Gardens is a Georgian townhouse ideal if you want to stay in the heart of the city but away from the hustle and bustle. Four-legged guests receive a welcome hamper, as well as a bed and bowls. The hotel also provides dog sitting and dog walking services.

The Orange, Pimlico

Serving beautifully cooked dishes made from locally sourced British food, The Orange is a real treat and well-behaved dogs are welcome in the downstairs bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine and wood fired pizza. B+B Belgravia is a fabulous dog-friendly place to stay nearby where canine guests are welcome in all areas of the hotel, except for the breakfast room.

The Society Club, Soho

If you enjoy relaxing with a good book, head to The Society Club, a bookshop and vibrant members club in Soho. Browse the eclectic range of rare, collectible and 1st editions, or stop by on a Friday night to enjoy poetry readings over a signature cocktail. You can always push the boat out and stay at Rosewood in Covent Garden, reminiscent of a British manor house where you can expect a warm welcome from Pearl, Rosewood’s resident Golden Retriever.

Old Spitalfields Market, Spitalfields

As London’s oldest market, Spitalfields is open seven days a week and there are countless undercover market stalls selling  everything from contemporary and vintage fashion, children’s toys and jewellery to accessories and homeware. You’re guaranteed to find a bargain. Nearby is dog-friendly South Place Hotel where well-behaved dogs are welcome in the hotel’s ‘Secret Garden’ – an outdoor bar for guests and hotel club members only. Guests are given a jogging/walking map of the City area so you can plan your morning run/stroll with your dog.

St James’s Park, Westminster

Considered the most beautiful royal park in London, St James’s Park spans over 58 acres and pelican spotting around the lake is a perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon. The Rubens at the Palace is just a 15 minute walk away from St James’s Park and is a majestic four-star hotel where four-legged guests will be gifted with a welcome hamper and their own menu. Dog walking, dog sitting and dog grooming services are also available.

Sloane Street, Chelsea

Sloane Street is the ultimate shopping destination and VersaceCartier and Tiffany & Co. are just a few of the stores that welcome furry friends with open arms. Once you’ve shopped til you’ve dropped, head to pet-friendly restaurant Colbert where your dog will be treated to bones and bowls of water whilst you enjoy the delicious French cuisine. To finish off the day in style, stay in lavish luxury at Belgraves Hotel. Perfectly blending Britannia and bohemia, this dog-friendly boutique is ideal for an overnight stay in the city, with the added bonus that Hyde Park is just a stone’s throw away.

And of course, if you're near Notting Hill, our friendly team at our Portbello Road office are always happy to welcome new faces and their furry friends!
