With eight Michael Graham offices spread across the county, our Stony Stratford office on the high street is dedicated to serving the market town itself, and surrounding areas including Bradwell, Wolverton, Cosgrove, and Yardley Gobion.

What makes Stony Stratford a great place to live?

Often referred to as the Jewel of Milton Keynes, Stony Stratford is a lively market town known for its traditional Georgian high street and rich history as a strategic coaching town. Located on the Roman road Watling Street, now the A5, the town forms part of the Milton Keynes urban area, bordering Northamptonshire and separated from it by the River Great Ouse. There is a friendly, close-knit community here with a thriving high street full of independent shops, cafés, famous pubs, and restaurants. The town hosts an eclectic a mix of arts, music, and literature festivals.

Green space

Stony Stratford is known as Milton Keyne’s most green-fingered town and has multiple Britain in Bloom awards to prove it. A group of volunteers known as “Stony in Bloom” work tirelessly to maintain and improve Stony Stratford’s parks and community gardens, and the local Nature Reserve provides nesting grounds and a thriving wetland habitat for birds and wildlife.

Transport Links

Wolverton and Milton Keynes Central are the closest rail hubs, the A5 runs close by and the M1 motorway provides access to the wider region. The town is part of MKs’ extensive “Redway” network, with paths for walking and cycling connecting to other areas.

Bradwell

Just three miles from Stony Stratford, Bradwell is considered a family-friendly area with a mix of old and new homes, and a strong sense of community. There are parks, playing fields and open spaces here, including Bradwell Abbey, an historic Benedictine priory site with scenic grounds, fishponds, and heritage walks. There are also plenty of shops, pubs, schools and services within the parish or a short drive away. Central Milton Keynes is easily accessible by road and bus.

Wolverton

Wolverton is a historic town located on the Grand Union Canal and blends old-town charm with modern amenities. Housing here includes Victorian terraces and newer developments, including canal-side regeneration projects such as Wolverton Park. Average prices and rents in Wolverton tend to be more affordable compared with many other MK areas, making the area popular with families and first-time buyers. The town centre here has a variety of shops, cafes, and supermarkets, and waterside walks and green spaces are a feature of Wolverton too, with the area offering a selection of parks, recreation grounds, and leisure facilities. There is also a railway station in Wolverton, with good connections to Central Milton Keynes, London, and Birmingham, making the area a popular choice for commuters.

Cosgrove is a small, picturesque rural village surrounded by open countryside, around 2 miles north of Stony Stratford and 6 miles north of Central Milton Keynes. The village sits on the Grand Union Canal, close to the River Great Ouse and River Tove, and there’s a mix of historic buildings alongside traditional cottages and rural homes. The village has a primary school and is close to Cosgrove Park, which offers water sports, play areas, fishing, and holiday accommodation.

Yardley Gobion
