The Blakesely Show 2026 – Celebrating local farming
The Blakesley & District Agricultural Show in Northamptonshire is fast approaching and is always a highlight in the Michael Graham events calendar. This year, our stand will be celebrating the remarkable work carried out by Britain’s farmers, day in, day out, whatever the weather. If you are thinking of buying or selling a property or would simply like to stop by for a drink and a chat, we would be delighted to welcome you.
Below, to mark the occasion, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite family-run farm shops who champion local businesses and agriculture by stocking their own homegrown produce alongside produce from neighbouring farms, artisan makers, and small businesses. From freshly picked fruit and vegetables to award-winning meats, homemade bakes, and seasonal treats, they offer a wonderful way to shop local while supporting the people who work so hard to keep our countryside thriving.
Barnowl Farm Shop, Brackley
Unpasteurised and pasteurised milk and dairy produce from the resident Jersey herd are sold here, plus an in-house butchery, and locally sourced veg and bakery goods. Barnowl supports small local businesses including Whittlebury Bakery and Butler’s Pie Company in Brackley.
Home Farm, Milton Keynes
Pure English honey, naturally flavoured honey, beeswax gifts, and unforgettable bee experiences are all on offer from Home Farm MK. Passionate about caring for their apiaries and helping the bees to produce exceptional honey, the team here also love helping people discover the fascinating world of honeybees.
Harvest of Olney, Fountain Court, Olney
This traditional, friendly greengrocer in the market town of Olney is well known for offering a wide selection of excellent quality fresh fruit and veg, along with artisan bread, flowers and more. They also offer a veg box delivery service.
Smiths, Chapel Brampton, Northants
Smiths is a family-run business with a strong emphasis on sustainability and local produce. The farm shop sells home grown veg, artisan breads from local bakery The Homemade Bread Company and fresh meats from Sauls of Spratton who supply them with sausage rolls, pork pies, pasties, and pâtés.
King’s Farm Shop, Wendover, Aylesbury
King’s specialise in butchery and there are 12 flavours of sausages to choose from, including their signature “Wendover Royal”. It’s not just about the meat though, there is an array of cheeses and homemade quiches, plus seasonal fruit, veg and condiments, all sourced from surrounding farms, with veg box delivery available.
Pecks Farm Shop, Leighton Buzzard
This award-winning farm shop sells food from the family’s 150-acre farm, and a whopping 90% of the products stocked are produced locally, so whether it’s sausages from Eaton Bray, beer from Leighton Buzzard, or Granola from High Wycombe, you’ll be doing your bit to support local businesses.
Franklins of Thorncote, near Hitchin
This family-run farm shop offers fresh, locally sourced produce, homemade bakes, and farm-reared meats. Franklins hit the road too, regularly attending farmers markets in Hattfield, Leighton Buzzard, Letchworth, Olney, and Woburn.
Browns of Stagsden, Bedford
Browns offer turkey, beef and pork reared on their family farm, plus local lamb, free range chicken, game (in season), and fruit and veg. Handmade sausages include a gluten free range, and home-cured charcuterie products sit alongside shelves stocked with sauces, jams, and condiments.
