Property description
A Georgian four double bedroom detached character cottage on a prominent corner position in the village adjacent to the historic village church and Dovecote.
The cottage is believed to date from 1832 and has painted rendered elevations under a tiled roof. It has been extended by the current owners and now has 2,006 sq. ft. of accommodation. The sitting room has a feature fireplace and bay windows to the front and the dining room is open plan to the garden room which has French doors to the rear garden. There is also a kitchen/breakfast room, utility room and cloakroom on the ground floor. The first floor landing has space for a home office and a skylight for natural light. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and bedroom two has fitted wardrobes. One of the other two bedrooms has an original fireplace and built-in wardrobes. The gravelled driveway provides parking and access to the single garage which has a remotely operated door, power connected and fitted storage units.
Kitchen/Breakfast Room and Utility Room
The kitchen/breakfast room has part panelled walls and bespoke painted Shaker style cabinets, including a shelved dresser and part glazed wall cupboards, with hardwood work surfaces. One cupboard houses the gas fired boiler. There is an integrated range cooker in a feature brick recess, a built-in microwave and a fridge. The utility room has matching units, space and plumbing for a washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer, and a door to the rear garden.
Gardens
A mature hedge at the front continues along the entire length of the garden. A gated side access leads to the rear garden which is a particular feature of the cottage and is fully enclosed by a combination of mature hedges and fences for screening. There are gravel paths, lawned areas, borders, a flagstone terrace, raised borders and a rose bed under an ornate iron gazebo. A timber summerhouse has a veranda and power connected.
