Property description

A Victorian five bedroom detached house extended at the side and rear with off street parking and a plot of approximately 0.20 acres including an enclosed rear garden.

The property was originally built in 1890 and is situated in a residential road, close to the centre of the village in an elevated position. The side extension created a covered car port and a garage with bedrooms above, and a further extension, around 28 years ago, added an open plan kitchen with a high vaulted pine clad ceiling. On the ground floor there are also three reception rooms and a cloakroom. The first floor has the principal bedroom which has an en suite bathroom and four further bedrooms and a main bathroom. At the front there is a privacy hedge with a picket gate and path to the front door. To the rear, the sitting room and kitchen both have doors to a patio in the garden which leads to lawn with mature trees and shrubs. It gently slopes away from the house and has raised beds.

Ground Floor

The entrance hall has stairs to the first floor and doors to the dining room and snug. The dining room has a cast iron Victorian fireplace, sash windows to front, and double doors to the sitting room which has a brick chimney breast with an inset wood burning stove. A side hall has a door to the garage and to the kitchen which has a range of built in units, windows and double doors to the garden and additional natural light from skylight windows. There is also a large storage area under the mezzanine floor.

First Floor

On the first floor the principal bedroom is just under 19 ft. long and has built-in wardrobes and windows to the rear with views over the fields beyond. The en suite bathroom has a bath and a separate shower cubicle. The main bathroom has a bath with a shower over, a low level WC and a washbasin. Bedroom four has built-in wardrobes and windows to the rear and the other three bedrooms have windows to the front. There is also a large boarded loft accessed via stairs.
