The Blakesley Show 2023

This year the Blakesley Show was a perfect example of a community pulling together and refusing to let rain get in the way of a great day out.

Michael Graham have been a proud show sponsor for almost two decades and this year, we used our stand at the show to get our fundraising for young farmer’s charity Yellow Wellies under way. We were helped along by Clarkson’s Farm’s very own Kaleb Cooper, who left his trade stand and collection of agricultural machinery to visit us and meet Team MG. We’re waiting to hear whether our Yellow Wellies volunteers managed to persuade him to take a table at their next Mad Hats Ball. Thank you, Kaleb for sparing the time to chat with us!

New to the Blakesely Show this year were demonstrations which showcased the best of British agriculture and the fantastic foods our farmers produce. Our Michael Graham Farmer’s Market Marquee also celebrated some of the best produce from our local farmers and artisans and we were delighted to welcome in lots of guests who enjoyed our hog roast and locally produced beer, wine and gin. And despite the rainy day, Willen Ice Cream had a steady stream of takers for their award-winning ice-creams.

The day was as fabulous as ever and nothing demonstrated the atmosphere more perfectly than at home time, when the Blakesley Tractor Team came into being. An army of tractors appeared from nowhere, with generous farmers coming to the rescue to pull cars from the mud.
