Fantastic events (and where to find them)

Now that the Great British summer is well under way, we can look forward to a season of country shows and carnivals across the region. If you haven’t had a selfie with Michalea yet (where have you been?), there’s still time to grab one at some of the attractions listed below and enter the Michael Graham draw to win a variety of gastronomic delights, including a Daylesford Farm Hamper and Hello Fresh subscription. Below are the events we highly recommend committing to the calendar.

Newport Pagnell Carnival, Buckinghamshire, 8-9 July. A quintessentially British carnival, so expect all the fun of the fair, including duck races, dog shows and classic and vintage cars. Michael Graham will be joining in with the festivities, so do say hello and take that selfie, post it on social media with the hashtag #MooovingWithMG and you could be picnicking in style courtesy of Daylesford.

Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire 24 – 28 July Garden Safari Week. Calling all budding Gerald Durrells out there, this is an opportunity to explore Woburn Abbey gardens and discover the animals, birds and bugs that live there. Children from 7 to 12 years old will love animal tracking, den building and bird spotting.

The Game Fair, Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, 28 -30 July. The largest countryside festival in Europe, this is for people passionate about countryside pursuits including fishing, falconry, gun dogs and horses. The event promises “a dash of glamour, amazing food and shopping.” What’s not to love? If one day isn’t enough, camping and glamping options are available.

The Blakesley Show, Northamptonshire Saturday 5th August. A traditional rural show and regular fixture in the Michael Graham calendar. Join us on our stand to toast our 50th birthday with a celebratory glass of fizz. Following the cattle, sheep and equine classes, a motorcycle stunt show in the main ring promises to have all but the most hardened adrenalin junkies watching through their fingers.

The Bucks County Show, Aylesbury, Thursday 31st August. Also celebrating a birthday, The Bucks County Show is pulling out all the stops in this their 150th year. Highlights include The Household Cavalry, cattle classes to make Michaela feel at home (she’s getting a taste for these events) and The Horse of the Year Show qualifiers in the gymkhana. Brush up on wine making and flower arranging skills in the Home and Garden Marquee, and for a shopping marathon, check out over 200 trade stands.

The Michael Graham team are thrilled to be moooving around the region this summer as part of our 50th birthday celebrations, and look forward to seeing you on our travels. And for the latest on Michaela’s whereabouts, follow us on Facebook and Twitter or via the website at
